Event Overview
The first cycle of the W3IH startup incubation programme was successfully completed with the international Joint Pitching / Final Pitch event, held in Split on July 9 and 10, 2026. The final event brought together students, mentors, teachers and Web3 experts, marking the culmination of months of work on innovative startup ideas within the Web3 Innovation HUB (W3IH) project.
Fifteen startup teams and 30 students from five partner universities presented their projects to an international expert jury. Throughout the programme, teams developed solutions in Web3 technologies, digital transformation and sustainable innovation, with a particular focus on applying new technologies to real social and economic challenges.
Two Days of Learning, Networking and Pitching
JULY 9 — Workshops, Masterclass and Networking
The first day was dedicated to expert workshops, lectures and networking as part of the BlockSplit Unconference and the Web3 Masterclass for Academics. Participants connected with peers, mentors and specialists while exploring the wider Web3 innovation ecosystem.
JULY 10 — International Final Pitch
On the second day, teams presented their startup ideas in an international pitching competition. Their projects were assessed by a panel of experts in Web3 marketing, business development, investment and the development of innovation ecosystems.
Impact and Project Context
The final pitch confirmed the value of international cooperation in developing entrepreneurial skills, sharing knowledge and connecting students with industry representatives. The programme enabled participants to develop their business ideas with mentoring support, gain practical experience and present innovative solutions in an international setting.
Web3 Innovation HUB (W3IH) is delivered under the Erasmus+ Capacity Building in Higher Education programme. It aims to develop Web3 competences, strengthen startup culture and connect the academic community with innovation ecosystems through international cooperation.
